Sea Kayak South Carolina |
Charleston's Oldest Guide Service and Most
Respected Outfitter, Coastal Expeditions takes you kayak touring in South
Carolina. Join us for a paddling trip soon, no experience necessary.
Our emphasis on quality and safety has given
us a reputation as Coastal South Carolina's premiere outfitter. Our guides are
trained Sea Kayak Instructors and lifeguards, certified in First Aid,
Wilderness First Aid and CPR. Our mission is preservation and environmental
education; therefore, all of our guides are also dedicated Naturalists.
When you join us, you join a group of
naturalists who believe kayaking is the least intrusive way to learn about the
coastal waters. You are valued as a team member in our adventure, gaining an
increased appreciation for our coastal waters and for our part in their
protection.
Estuaries are the most biodiversified
ecosystem on the planet. South Carolina is blessed with more estuary/barrier
island habitat than any other state in the nation, including the longest
stretch of protected coastline on the Eastern seaboard. This rich environment
is where fresh and saltwater intermingle and is host to an abundant and diverse
array of flora and fauna. Whether paddling in the black water creeks of a
Cypress swamp, old canals of abandoned rice fields or the coastal waters of our
barrier islands, your adventure with Coastal Expeditions will be an
unforgettable highlight of your stay in the Low Country.
"Coastal Expeditions is a small group
of naturalists dedicated to a mission statement of environmental stewardship.
In an effort to achieve this mission we have chosen the expedition style sea
kayak as our low impact exploratory vessel. Come join us for an exciting and
educational adventure and some of the best sea kayaking on the East
Coast." -Captain Chris Crolley - President of Coastal
Expeditions
"Coastal Expeditions' knowledge of
barrier islands along the Carolina coast is unmatched, and its bird watching
trips by former rice plantations are lovely."
-Southern Living Magazine
"The kayak linked me to the scene in a
way no other boat ever has...as we paddled lightly and quietly with the
invisible current, a world that seemed placid from afar came to life around
us."
-New York Times Travel Section, March 10, 1996, page 1,
lead article on Coastal Expeditions
"Time stops rushing by when we're
outdoors in remote places. That's when we learn how connected we
are."
