There’s something about a Lowcountry sunset.   As the sun slowly lowers over the horizon, the saltmarsh takes on a special hue, and a stillness takes over.  On this leisurely paddle, we’ll seek out bottlenose dolphins and other inhabitants of Folly Beach.

It’s a special privilege to watch the salt marsh settle into its evening routine.  Flocks of ibises and egrets begin to fly back to their nightly roosts and dolphins lazily move through tidal creeks.  You’ll witness the natural order of life in the estuary as day gives way to night on this laid-back and fascinating tour.

INCLUDES
Gear (sea kayak, PFD, paddle, etc.), pre-paddle prep/instruction, guide, and tax.

TOUR DURATION
Up to 3 Hours (includes instruction, prep and on-water time)

ACTIVITY LEVEL
Participants will kayak on a guided expedition that has been timed with the tides for an enjoyable trip.

WHAT TO WEAR
Shoes that will stay on your feet, a hat, and synthetic clothing (it will dry faster than cotton).  During cooler weather, dress in layers.

WHAT TO BRING
Drinking water, sunscreen (both available for purchase).

WEATHER
Weather (thunderstorms or high winds) may impact this excursion. Cancellations usually occur due to lightning, thunder or high winds and we will make sure to reschedule your group if needed. Our general cancellation policies apply unless our experts determine it is potentially unsafe or unwise to venture out. In the event that we decide to cancel due to weather, we will make every effort to call you at least two hours before your departure and help you reschedule or credit/refund the full cost of your trip.

GRATUITY
Gratuity is not included in your tour price. Our guides go above and beyond to make sure you have a fantastic time out on the water! Average gratuity ranges from 15%–25% of your tour cost based on your experience. It is not required, but always greatly appreciated!

Dolphins & Wildlife

It was such a peaceful feeling paddling with the group at sunset. The emotions cannot be explained without experiencing it yourself.

We also had some funny moments as we were paddling back - a number of fish and shrimp were literally jumping into our kayaks as we neared the end of the tour. That was unexpected and we all got a good laugh out of it.

If you are doing this in the summer, the sunset tour is the right choice to avoid the searing heat of the day.
