Some of the prettiest places in the Lowcountry are only accessible by kayak. This keeps them undeveloped and in their natural state. This area is a hotspot for migrating songbirds, raptors, wildflowers and native fauna like alligators, turtles, deer and turkeys.
The ACE Basin a model of cooperative conservation efforts between organizations like the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, The Nature Conservancy and Lowcountry Land Trust and private landowners.
These isolated water trails are bordered by diverse botanical specimens of the freshwater environment and are home to a host of birds, reptiles and mammals including warblers, finches, bald eagles, ospreys, owls, alligators, otters and more. We will go back in time in this tidal, freshwater creek as we meander through the hidden passages that only a kayak can access. Expect to see wildflowers blooming along the creek banks from spring through late fall.
This ACE Basin kayak tour is timed with the tides (the blackwater in this part of the Lowcountry is tidal) to assist us along the way. If you’re looking for a special way to see the beauty of the Lowcountry, this is your tour.
You can book the ACE Basin Kayak Tour as a private tour for groups of 6 or more.
