Though Katie was born and raised in the Upstate, she has always had a special place in her heart for the Lowcountry. While pursuing a degree in Marine Biology from College of Charleston, she worked in the Office of Sustainability where she found her passion for protecting the environment. Prior to joining the team at Coastal Expeditions, Katie taught environmental education to K-12 students through Friends of Coastal South Carolina and volunteer with the Loggerhead Sea Turtle Relocation Program in Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge. She can’t wait to share with you the unique environments that make the Lowcountry one of her favorite places in the world!
