Rumored to have been raised by a family of blue crabs, Gates Roll is about as knowledgeable about the Lowcountry as anyone we know. In 2013, he was one of only 6 guides worldwide to receive the TOP GUIDE award from REI Adventures for his work cultivating the Coastal Carolina Kayaking trip. He’s a captain on the ferry, a lead naturalist and a multi-day adventure specialist. In other words, he’s an invaluable asset to the Coastal Expeditions team.
When he’s not working at Coastal Expeditions, you’ll find him in saltwater flats guiding fishing charters.
