Spring is upon us and The Outdoor School at Coastal Expeditions is ready for some fun at Spring Break Camp!
Each day is different, taking campers ages 8 to 11 to different destinations from our Shem Creek campus. Sign up for one– or take advantage of all four days!

Spring Break Camp Itinerary: Daily from 9 am – 2 pm
Monday, April 10: Kayaking Adventure
Tuesday, April 11: Critter Collection & Scavenger Hunt
Wednesday, April 12: Paddle Boarding and Outdoor Crafts
Thursday, April 13: Morris Island Fossil Hunt
Friday, April 14: Drum Island Shelter Building and Fossil Hunt
April 10th: Kayaking Adventure
Campers will learn the basics of sea kayaking with a Coastal Expeditions guide before paddling to Crab Bank Seabird Rookery.
April 11th: Critter Collection & Scavenger Hunt
Campers will participate in a scavenger hunt along the Shem Creek boardwalk. Campers will learn about the estuary and have time to search for wildlife! In the afternoon the group will participate in dip-netting and cast-netting off the dock finding critters and learning all about them!
April 12th: Paddle Boarding and Outdoor Crafts
Campers will learn the basics of paddle boarding with a Coastal Expeditions guide before paddling on Shem Creek. On the paddle the group will be on the lookout for wildlife, seeing dolphins, birds, and much more along the way. In the afternoon the group will work on various crafts like painting birdhouses and planting seeds!
April 13th: Morris Island Fossil Hunt
Campers will take the school boat, Bird, to Morris Island in Charleston Harbor for a day of fossil hunting, birding, and dolphin-spotting.
April 14th: Drum Island Shelter Building and Fossil Hunt
Campers will take the school boat, Bird, to Drum Island in Charleston Harbor for a day of fossil hunting, birding, and dolphin-spotting. On Drum Island, students will also participate in a shelter building contest.

Things to Know
All counselors are certified in lifeguarding, first aid/CPR and ACA kayaking.

WHAT TO WEAR
Dress for the weather and wear a hat to protect from the sun. Even if it is warm, a windbreaker is recommended for the boat ride and while on the island.
WHAT TO BRING
Reusable water bottle, lunch, towel, sunscreen, hat, shoes that will stay on their feet (Tevas or Chaco style sandals are best!). Pack a full change of clothes in case they get wet!
