Folly Creek Full Moon Kayak Tour Book Now

Starting in late 2019, we moved all tours from this outpost on Folly to a wild spot on the Kiawah River! If you’d like to check out all of the tours we offer in South Carolina, click here.

Away from the city lights, this is your chance to sea kayak under the silvery light of the full moon. Sound incredible?  It is.

We’ll begin before sunset and head out into the protected salt marsh that winds behind Folly Island into wildlife-inhabited creeks.  The herons, egrets, ibises and other wading birds will start their retreat to their nightly roosts as the sun drops over the horizon.  Bottlenose dolphins often breach nearby as they search for schools of fish.  As the moon rises and the sky darkens, everything will begin to quiet down and we’ll take in the sounds of the paddles gently gliding through the water as we look to the sky.

At the end of your adventure, your guide will lead you back along the water trails using the moonlight as a map.

Afterwards, find a dock to sit on, grab a drink and work your way through a bag of boiled peanuts.  This is real Lowcountry living.

This is a guide and client favorite, offered monthly around the full moon.

Trip Advisor Reviews

Wait, our sunset/full-moon paddle with Dallas was far, far more than a just a FIVE on your rating scale! We had an extra-ordinary extra-special night on the water – beautiful sunset followed quickly by an amazing orange full moon rising on the horizon near the Morris Island lighthouse, all while hearing sounds of marsh hens, herons, and dolphin rising to the surface. UNFORGETTABLE! Dallas, you are a knowledgeable and outstanding guide!! Many thanks.
