Join the Lowcountry Land Trust and Coastal Expeditions for a naturalist-guided adventure exploring the head waters of the Ashepoo River. The Ashepoo puts the “A” in ACE Basin and is the most compact river in the delta. This stretch of river finds its source adjacent to the preserved landscape of Old Bonnie Doone Plantation. There is no substitute for the intimacy of the self-powered experience where paddle meets black water in the realm of the cypress tupelo bottom land forest where only the simplest vessels can go.
Note: All vessels are expedition style sea kayaks with adjustable sea backs, foot operated rudders and enclosed compartments for flotation.
All guides are First Aid, CPR and Life Guard certified kayak instructors as well as dedicated naturalist interpreters.
