Join the Coastal Expeditions Foundation, Charleston Waterkeeper, Easy Honey on a Shem Creek Sweep! Easy Honey is kicking their surf tour off with a litter sweep in their hometown and we will need all the help we can get after tropical storm, Debby, moves through Charleston.
Shem Creek is one of Charleston’s busiest recreational waterways and that puts a lot of pressure on this natural resource. The creek is a haven for dolphins and manatees with their calves, nesting birds and other wildlife. Let’s do a creek sweep to make sure its clean for this “nursery of the sea.” We will have some people kayaking to clean up the creek and others walking the street to prevent additional litter to enter.
Sunday, August 11th | 12-2 pm
Kayaks and litter collecting gear will be provided
100% of proceeds go to Coastal Expeditions Foundation and Charleston Waterkeeper: $15/person
It will be following Easy Honey show at the Windjammer this Saturday!

Join the Lowcountry Land Trust and Coastal Expeditions on a naturalist-guided adventure exploring the Ashepoo River and its tributaries as the tannic headwaters make their journey towards St Helena Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. This will be an excellent opportunity to experience the broad scale of riparian landscape as it demonstrates its resilience of successional recovery from the Carolina Gold rice era of the 18th century.
Note: All vessels are US Coast Guard inspected passenger carrying vessels with current stability letters and certificates of inspection. All Captains are USCG Masters certified in First Aid and CPR as well as dedicated naturalist interpreters.
