Kayak to a seabird rookery island- one of only 5 in the state!- to learn about local ecosystems and Charleston history. Departs from our Shem Creek campus in Mount Pleasant. Led by naturalist educators at Coastal Expeditions' Outdoor School.

FERRY ECOTOUR & ISLAND HIKE
Take the ferry to Bulls Island in Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge for an unmatched experience in nature! Led by naturalist educators in Coastal Expeditons' Outdoor School. Curriculum is adapted for each grade to correspond with SC standards.
For grades 1-12, college, and continuing education students.
Charleston Harbor Nature Quest
BOAT TOUR & FOSSIL HUNT
Hop aboard our School Boat for a fun estuary cruise through Charleston Harbor to Drum Island! Once on the island, the educator leads a walk down the beach to look for fossils and learn about barrier island ecology.
Ideal for grades 1-12.
South Carolina Outdoor Education Program
KAYAKING FIELD TRIP
Learn about local ecology on a kayaking field trip on the Black River! Participating middle schools qualify for scholarships, including bus stipend. Led by naturalist educators from Coastal Expeditions' Outdoor School.

Experience
Coastal Expeditions has led field trips for nearly 30 years in the Lowcountry and has taken out over 50,000 students in that time.
Naturalist Educators have safety certifications in first aid, CPR, ACA kayaking and life guarding.
Boats are designed for safe passage and are certified yearly by the US Coast Guard. All captains hold master captain licenses.
