Learn the basics of sea kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding! This 10-week program teaches kids ages 10-13 how to safety and effectively paddle in tidal saltwater creeks. They will be steeped in pluff mud and know the magic of the salt marsh after learning:

• Proper sea kayak entrance and exit;
• Paddle strokes;
• Towing;
• How to create a float plan (reading tide tables/charts, checking weather, etc.);
• How to care for equipment;
• And more!

During paddle instruction,  program leaders will teach students about the surrounding ecosystem, from bird identification and shark tooth hunting to estuary dynamics and local history.

By the end this fun course, your child will know the essentials of paddling- and the salt marsh- so that they can begin to safely explore on their own!

Only 16 spots available.
