You don’t want to miss  the Super Wolf Blood Lunar Eclipse of 2019.  And from our outpost on Folly Creek, you’ll get a clear view of this celestial event from the vantage point of a sea kayak.

Departing from the landing, we’ll paddle out in the darkness, under the silvery light of the full moon.  It’s a super moon, meaning that its the closest that the moon comes to the earth in its elliptical orbit.  The tides will be big and the moon will look big & bright in the sky.

As your kayak guide leads you  through the estuary, the Earth’s shadow will begin to block the sun from the moon.  As the eclipse progresses, the moon will take on a coppery or red hue as the light bends.

The next Blood Moon, seen only during full lunar eclipses, won’t be visible again in the Southeastern United States until 2022.

INCLUDES
Gear (sea kayak, PFD, paddle, etc.), pre-paddle prep/instruction, guide, and tax.

TOUR DURATION
3 Hours (includes instruction, prep and on-water time)

ACTIVITY LEVEL
Participants will kayak on a guided expedition that has been timed with the tides for an enjoyable trip.

WHAT TO WEAR
Shoes that will stay on your feet, a hat, and synthetic clothing (it will dry faster than cotton).  During cooler weather, dress in layers.

WHAT TO BRING
Drinking water-1 liter/person (available for purchase).

WEATHER

Weather (thunderstorms or high winds) may impact this excursion. Cancellations usually occur due to lightning, thunder or high winds and we will make sure to reschedule your group if needed. Our general cancellation policies apply unless our experts determine it is potentially unsafe or unwise to venture out. In the event that we decide to cancel due to weather, we will make every effort to call you at least two hours before your departure and help you reschedule or credit/refund the full cost of your trip.

GRATUITY

Gratuity is not included in your tour price. Our guides go above and beyond to make sure you have a fantastic time out on the water! Average gratuity ranges from 15%–25% of your tour cost based on your experience. It is not required, but always greatly appreciated!
