UPCOMING ADVENTURES:
Wednesdays and Thursdays at Shem Creek – 3:45 pm-6:15 pm

Each day is different, taking campers ages 5 to 9 to different destinations from our Shem Creek location. Sign up for one day– or take advantage of multiple days! 

Drop off your camper for an afternoon of fun with The Coastal Expeditions Outdoor School! Just like our other summer camp adventures but in the afternoon! Each day is different and the activity depends on the tides and weather that day.

Our summer camp is designed to get kids outside to learn outdoor skills, water safety, and ecology!

Daily activities change each week based on the tides and weather and include:

-Fossil hunting
-Morris Island boat ride and island hike
-Creek sweep
-Journaling
-Crabbing & Touch Tank
-Swimming
-Birding
-Team building games!
-Introduction to kayak and paddleboard

Camp is led by Coastal Expeditions guides.  They are year-round environmental educators with certifications in first aid, CPR, lifeguarding and sea kayaking.  Safety is paramount and all campers wear PFD’s when on the dock, swimming and paddling.

AGES
Kids 5-9

TOUR DURATION
2.5 hours

WHAT TO WEAR
Dress for the weather and wear a hat to protect from the sun. Wear shoes that you don’t mind getting wet and a bathing suit for swimming.

WHAT TO BRING
Water bottle and snack. Sunscreen.

SAFETY
All Coastal Expeditions guides are trained in first aid, CPR and lifeguarding.  As year-round leaders of day camps and school field trips, our staff is well-trained to keep safety at the forefront.

ARE ADULTS ALLOWED TO COME, TOO?
This is an experience for kids only.

WEATHER POLICY
If the captain feels that it will be UNSAFE to run (ie. thunder, lightning, or high winds) Coastal Expeditions will cancel at no charge to you. We will contact you before your trip if the weather is going to be an issue. If you decide not to go due to light rain or hot/cold weather you need to cancel 48 hours in advance to avoid being charged.

You’ll need to cancel 72 hours prior or you will not be eligible for a refund for the tour.
