Drop off your children at our Shem Creek flagship for an afternoon that takes them to a barrier island in Charleston Harbor on a kids fossil adventure! On this expedition, we will take a 30-minute boat trip out to Morris Island and back. At the island, we will have 2 hours to explore the island looking for shark teeth, fossils, and shells along the way!
Throughout the excursion, kids will be with an outdoor educator to identify fossils other beach finds and talk about the local ecosystem. On this kids fossil adventure, they’re likely to find shark teeth, Megalodon teeth, fossilized vertebrae, ray plates, and much more. These finds become treasured keepsakes and can be made into jewelry or sorted by species, continuing the education far beyond the day’s adventure.
Charleston’s Original Outfitter- Founded in 1992
