Cape Romain Lighthouse Tour Book Now

Upcoming 2020 Trip Dates: October 11

Please note: We will now be meeting at the Robert E. Ashley Boat Landing located at 405 Pinckney Street, McClellanville, SC 29458. We will be departing at 1:30pm and returning back to the dock at 4:30pm. Please aim to arrive 15 to 30 minutes before departure. There will no longer be a presentation at the Sewee Visitor Center due to the pandemic. We will stay on the boat for the duration of the tour and view the lighthouses from the ferry. We will no longer be getting off on Lighthouse Island like the original itinerary had planned for. In addition, there are coronavirus policies in place for the boat ride. We are currently requiring masks aboard the vessel for the duration of the adventure and we are running at a limited capacity on the ferry.

We greatly appreciate your understanding as we navigate the pandemic world.

Four times each year, Cape Romain National Wildlife Refuge offers a tour to Lighthouse Island where you can view two historic lights.

Winding 6 miles offshore though the estuary to the island is part of the adventure, and skilled naturalists will provide interpretation of the flora and fauna that surrounds the boat en route to the destination.

The lights are a significant maritime landmark and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 1827 lighthouse is the oldest of its kind still standing in the United States.

This is an incredible outdoor adventure that combines a fun-filled boat eco-tour with exploration of the lighthouses. Book your ticket today and embark on this special expedition!
