Crab Bank Quest
Sea Kayaking Field Trip to a Rookery Island
Paddle to Crab Bank, one of South Carolina's five seabird rookery islands at the edge of the Charleston Harbor.
Our field study will include a comprehensive overview of the history, geology, biology, and botany as it applies to the estuary. Students will learn about the island and the conservation story associated to protecting sea and shorebirds.
This trip is adjusted to cover the science curriculum standard based with the idea that we will be introducing vocabulary and concepts that students will see again on standardized testing. This program is aimed at setting students up for success.

Things To Know
- For middle and high school students
- No prior kayaking or swimming experience necessary.
- Field trip duration, including on-water instruction is 2 hours
- 20 student minimum. $45/student (2 chaperones free).
