THANKSGIVING TOURS

Need some guidance on what to pick?  We’re always available to talk, but if you want a reference, here are a few tips:

BEST INTERGENERATIONAL TOUR:  Charleston Harbor Cruise.  It’s only 2 hours and it’s on a comfortable, covered boat.  Everyone from young kids to their grandparents will enjoy this nature and history tour departing from Shem Creek.

BEST ULTIMATE TOUR:  Kiawah River Hike + Boat.  It’s a new tour that takes you into a beautiful maritime forest and salt marsh estuary on the Kiawah River.  Departing from Johns Island, it’s just a few miles from downtown Charleston…but it feels like a step back in time.  Excellent if you’re into birding (or want to be!).

BEST NATURE TOUR:  The Bulls Island Ferry is always great for a self-guided adventure on the island.

If you want a little more, choose the Alligator Walk.  You’ll have a naturalist with you the entire way, and you’ll see parts of the island that you’d miss otherwise.  Expect to walk about 5-6 miles.

BEST SOUVENIR TOUR:  Better than anything you can get on Market Street, the fossils that you find on the Morris Island Shark Tooth Tour are artifacts that you’ll keep forever.   This tour has somewhat of a cult following of people who come out again and again.  Be prepared:  You’ll be on a barrier island for a few hours to give you time to search for shark teeth, enjoy the views and explore the island.

BEST “WE CAN’T DECIDE” OPTION: Pop in our shop on Shem Creek and rent kayaks for a few hours.  You can go out for the time that you want, and then enjoy lunch or dinner on the creek afterwards.  We’ll set you up with a few pointers and map before you go for a fun adventure.
