When we started planning BeWilder, we knew that we wanted it to be a great representation of who we are as a fledgling environmental foundation. Dallas Baker, a manager and kayak guide at Coastal Expeditions came on board to play music for the evening.  Our friend Victoria Hansen from SC Public Radio volunteered to emcee. Environmental partners like Charleston Waterkeeper and South Carolina Aquarium donated special tours to see what they do behind the scenes to help our wild places and animals.

Dress Code?  Spring fling.  We want you to wear  what makes you feel great- no ties required.  It’s the eve of the Vernal Equinox, so let your hair down and come celebrate with us.

From there, we decided that we’d reach out to our friends in the area to donate to the silent auction.  These are all businesses and organizations that give back in their own ways.   They encourage us to get outside or they make decisions that lower their environmental impacts.  They get us outfitted in the right gear or they raise our awareness about conservation concerns.  In other words, they make Charleston wilder.
