It was another great Folly Doggy Paddle on Sunday, August 11 at Coastal Expeditions Folly Outpost. Now in its 5th year, this annual event brings people (and some really cute dogs) out for a day of kayaking and paddleboarding in exchange for bags of pet food.
Our friends from Audubon South Carolina were out there with us to educate pet owners about sharing the beach with nesting birds, King of Pops sold refreshing popsicles-for people and dogs!- and the Crosby’s Food Truck kept the air filled with the irresistible scent of fresh, fried seafood.
Afterwards, everyone left with a doggy bag of treats from The Barrel, Wag Factory and Lost Dog Cafe.
All together, we were able to donate 2,519 pounds of food and over $500 to the Charleston Animal Society. Coastal Expeditions donated all of the proceeds from our Folly location that day. Our team did an incredible job putting this event together and getting everyone on the water!
