As a keystone species in the salty estuaries that surround Beaufort, oysters are a critical part of the local ecosystem. Enhance your Beaufort Oyster Festival experience by learning about oysters in their natural habitat on a special boat ecotour to local oyster beds.
Departing from the historic waterfront, on-board naturalists will share the wonder of the salt marsh, providing you with an in-depth look at the estuary and the valuable place the oyster holds.
On this expedition we’ll also be on the lookout for Lowcountry wildlife like dolphins, eagles and perhaps the biggest oyster connoisseur of oyster, the American Oystercatcher.
